The Avasar Foundation

Opportunity Foundation Trust was registered on November 2, 2012 at Bangalore, Karnataka. We are known as Avasar which is the Hindi translation of Opportunity.
Our goal is to provide an opportunity to talented & meritorious girls from economically weaker sections of society to help them pursue their academic goals through scholarships, education counselling, coaching, training and mentoring programmes directed towards overall personality development. Apart from achieving academic goals it also helps them in employment and workplace success.
We aim to permanently get underprivileged girls out of the cycle of poverty by ensuring that they do not drop out of education and acquire employability skills. Each batch that we support would remain under Avasar’s care for a minimum period of 5 years (when enrolled soon after 10th standard) i.e. until they complete their graduation as per the 10+2+3 education system prevailing in India. We had our first batch of 7 girls enrolled during June 2013. A batch of 7 will be added each year for the next 5 years by when the first batch begins graduating.
